Ryan Reynolds is many things actor, king of Twitter, GQ Man of the Year. But his most important job is that of a dad to his two kids, which means he has some experience when it comes to the delivery room, at least in theory.
That’s why GQ had their Man of the Year make a videodispensing priceless bits of wisdom for dads to mull over before their big moment in the delivery room.
First: Be in the room. Youre not Don Draper.
It’s not 1964 anymore. Man up and be part of the experience.
His second rule is to be careful with the picture-taking.
I think be judicious with the photographs you take. Because a photo of your daughter crowning hanging on the refrigerator, thats not going to help anyone.
He then issues a warning.
So your wife will pretty much never think its funny or charming if you tip your imaginary top hat and say, At your cervixdont do that.
(But everyone not trying to push out a human will still find that highly entertaining.)
He remindsthem theyre pretty much the least important thing in the room.
His ranking goes: your wife, the baby, the doctor, the nurse, the doula, if you have one, and.the air.
Last but not least, stay positive.
“When your partner asks ‘if everythings OK down there,’ respond in the affirmative but dont yell, ‘better than ever.’”
He’s just keeping it real and really funny.
